As a fashion minimalist, color usually doesn’t excite me; instead, it does quite literally the opposite. I own 10 of the same white tank tops and prefer a neutral color palette that stays in my comfort zone. So, when Barbiecore took over last summer and red became the color of the fall, I wasn’t quick to add bright pinks and fuchsias or vermillions to my closet. Opting for yellow is a way for me to try something new with my style—even if it’s just a baby step.
The easiest way I’m finding implementing yellow in my closet is with tops I would normally wear (just in a yellow shade) and accessories. This spring, I’m especially looking forward to pairing a buttery yellow linen dress styled with heels or sandals. Trendy tones, such as Barbie pink, will inevitably come and go, whereas a pale yellow shade is everlasting no matter the season.
