Family-owned and run Swansway Motor Group unveiled its newest dealership in style with a spectacular launch event at BYD Crewe.
Swansway officially opened the new Beswick Drive showroom where their head office functions are also based in late August. The dealership group also operates the BYD franchise on Bumpers Lane in Chester.
BYD entered the market in early 2023 with the family SUV Atto 3 and has since expanded to include the Dolphin and the Seal which it plans to sell through a UK retail network of 100 dealerships by the end of 2025.
Swansway Motor Group operates dealerships across the Midlands, North West, and North Wales, with 21 retailers representing eight brands and five Motor Match dealerships, alongside its Crewe-based accident repair centre and fleet division.
The new franchise point opened it doors to families from the area, providing a host entertainment from bouncy castles to football darts, a live DJ and delicious food including a popular ice cream van.
The day featured special guests including players from Crewe Alexandra FC.
However, the real showstoppers were the YangWang U8 and U9 cars which both demonstrated their famous ‘tank turn’, with the U9 also leaving guests amazed by its ability to dance.
The Crewe Alexandra players were more than impressed by the YangWang models, with star winger Shilow Tracey saying he’d ‘never seen anything like it.’
BYD Crewe head of business Sam Booth, commenting on the day, said: “It was wonderful to see so many families from the area enjoying the summer holidays while learning more about the BYD brand and the cars in our lineup.
“This is just one example of the promise Swansway’s partnership with BYD brings and hopefully people from Crewe will be talking about BYD following this event.”
